I will be serving as Deacon of Children and Family ministries, particularly in the area of training our children.   I have worked with children in many different roles for most of my life, both in the church and in schools.  They are my favorite people!  It is an honor to serve God in this role at Journey Church, helping people and the church body grow.

Hi, I’m Katie and I am serving as deaconess of Music and Worship. One of the greatest joys and passions in my life is music. It has always been something I have used to help encourage myself through good times and bad. I’m excited that I can continue to serve the Lord and my church family in helping to turn people hearts and mind to God through music. 

My prayer for small groups is that they grow into authentic and intentional discipleship times. Praying together, sharing a meal, sharing life. Being vulnerable to share our sins, struggles, and need for Jesus. For the older to pour into the younger. To build a bond that is firmly fixed on loving God and loving others.

I am excited to serve in the role of Deacon of Hospitality and In-Reach.  I have always felt a passion and gifting in making sure all feel welcome and comfortable in our community.  I love that Journey Church is a Gospel-Centered Family and look forward to serving in ways that create a culture of fellowship and belonging.

I oversee the general maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.  Organizing others to help in this process and also helping in the cleaning process of the church.  Bringing bids together for the Elders and the church to see what the more expensive work needs to be done and then overseeing the work.

I get the opportunity to serve our church in the role of Tech and Communication Deacon. I look forward to being the one to inform the church and community around us of all the great things going on within our church body.
